Job Description
Job Responsible:
Providing operational support to client organizations servers, applications and network systems
Following Standard Procedures (Run Books) responding to pages/alerts for client infrastructure
Perform daily maintenance, checks, tasks on client infrastructure
Our systems administrators work in a small team of 4-6 team members, responsible for 10-15 customer environments. You should be a quick learner and ready to hit the ground running, managing networks and servers for everything from small start-ups to huge enterprises.
Primary responsibilities are dynamic in nature and consist mainly of routine maintenance task and paging response in a very busy environment. The ability prioritize and switch between a constant flow of tasks Is imperative.
Education
Post-secondary education in computer science, related fields or product certifications would be considered an asset.
Experience
1-3 years of experience managing production network and server environments
Basic knowledge of various hardware platforms from a wide variety of vendors
Growing skills on a variety of platforms, primarily Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu) and Windows (Server 2003 and Server 2008). Knowledge of other Linux distributions, including CentOS, OEL, Debian, and SuSE would be considered an asset
Basic knowledge of managing networking devices such as switches and firewalls from a variety of vendors
Installation and configuration of applications providing network services, such as: HTTP/HTTPS, NFS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, NTP, DNS, DHCP
Basic Administration of Apache and IIS web servers;
Qaulification
Bachelors Degree or its equivalent
