Job Description
Education and or Certifications: Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineer
Skills Required:
• Practical knowledge of enterprise Java development. Commercial experience is preferred
• Experience in some or all of the following architectural competencies: design patterns (including Java EE), proof of concept development, functional estimation and performance tuning techniques
• Understanding of various Java EE technologies and frameworks
• Good knowledge of Java enterprise application servers/containers, such as JBoss or Tomcat
• Good knowledge of Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems
• Experience of using at least one of the following databases: SQL Server, DB2 or Oracle.
• Exposure to Java UI technologies would be considered advantageous
Technical Skills and Abilities:
• Basic programming experience in either C++ or Java
• Experience of working within Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems
• Understanding of database concepts and exposure to one of the following platforms: SQL Server, DB2, Oracle or MySQL
Soft Skills:
Strong communicator and collaborator; technically curious; inventive; methodical; logical but can 'think outside the box'; takes pride in quality of solution
